Mushroom sauce

Hereโ€™s a simple, creamy mushroom sauce that goes great with chicken, pasta, or rice ๐Ÿ„

Easy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1 small clove garlic (optional)
  • ยฝ cup cream or milk
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: a pinch of thyme or parsley

Steps

  1. Heat butter/oil in a pan on medium heat.
  2. Cook mushrooms until they release water and turn golden (5โ€“7 minutes).
  3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in cream or milk, stir, and let it gently simmer.
  5. Season with salt & pepper (and herbs if using).
  6. Cook until slightly thick, then turn off heat.

Tips

  • For thicker sauce: let it simmer longer or add a small spoon of flour mixed with water.
  • For lighter sauce: use milk instead of cream.
  • Tastes amazing over fried chicken, mashed potatoes, or pasta.
