Easy Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- 1 small clove garlic (optional)
- ยฝ cup cream or milk
- Salt & pepper
- Optional: a pinch of thyme or parsley
Steps
- Heat butter/oil in a pan on medium heat.
- Cook mushrooms until they release water and turn golden (5โ7 minutes).
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in cream or milk, stir, and let it gently simmer.
- Season with salt & pepper (and herbs if using).
- Cook until slightly thick, then turn off heat.
Tips
- For thicker sauce: let it simmer longer or add a small spoon of flour mixed with water.
- For lighter sauce: use milk instead of cream.
