Apple cake

Here’s a simple, moist Apple Cake that works great as a snack cake or dessert 🍎🍰


Classic Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large apples, peeled & diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
  • ¾ cup sugar (white or brown)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional add-ins:

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ¼ cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8-inch pan or round cake pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients
    In another bowl, beat sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine
    Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
    Fold in apples and any optional add-ins.
  5. Bake
    Pour batter into pan and smooth top.
    Bake 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool & serve
    Let cool slightly. Serve plain or with powdered sugar, caramel drizzle, or vanilla ice cream.

Optional Glaze (Quick & Easy)

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or apple juice
  • Dash of vanilla

Mix and drizzle over cooled cake.
