Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup pineapple juice or finely crushed pineapple (with juice)
- ½ cup sweet chili sauce
- 2–3 tbsp honey or brown sugar (to taste)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½–1 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)
Instructions
- Combine base ingredients
In a saucepan over medium heat, add pineapple juice, sweet chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and chili flakes. - Simmer
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 3–5 minutes until fragrant. - Thicken
Stir in cornstarch slurry. Simmer another 1–2 minutes until glossy and thick. - Cool & serve
Remove from heat. Sauce thickens more as it cools.
