American Goulash
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 1–2 cloves garlic (optional)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2 cups water or beef broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt & pepper
- Optional: shredded cheese
Steps
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until soft.
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, water/broth, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then add macaroni.
- Lower heat and simmer 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Top with cheese if you like.
Tips
- Add a pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
- If it gets too thick, add a little water.
- Great leftover meal — flavors improve overnight.
