Here’s a classic American goulash recipe 🍲
(Simple, filling, and kid-friendly.)

American Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1–2 cloves garlic (optional)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water or beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & pepper
  • Optional: shredded cheese

Steps

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft.
  3. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, water/broth, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil, then add macaroni.
  5. Lower heat and simmer 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Top with cheese if you like.

Tips

  • Add a pinch of Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  • If it gets too thick, add a little water.
  • Great leftover meal — flavors improve overnight.
