Aloe vera

Posted on January 30, 2026 by Admin

Ah, aloe vera β€” low-key magical plant 🌿

What it’s known for

  • Skin soothing: Burns, sunburn, cuts, irritation
  • Hydration: Light, cooling moisture (no greasiness)
  • Hair & scalp: Calms itch, adds slip and shine
  • Digestive support: Only when properly processed (important note below)

How to use it (fresh or store-bought)

🌱 Fresh aloe leaf

  1. Cut a thick leaf from the plant
  2. Let yellow sap (aloin) drain out β€” don’t use that
  3. Slice open and scoop the clear gel
  4. Rinse gel before use

🧴 Store-bought gel

  • Look for high aloe content
  • Avoid heavy dyes, fragrance, or alcohol if using on skin

Common uses

  • Sunburn relief – apply directly, chill for extra soothing
  • Face moisturizer – thin layer, great for oily skin
  • Hair mask – mix with coconut oil, leave 20–30 min
  • Aftershave – reduces redness and sting
  • Minor cuts – helps calm and protect skin

⚠️ Safety notes

  • Don’t ingest raw aloe gel unless it’s food-grade and processed
  • Patch test on skin first
  • The yellow sap (aloin) can irritate skin and gut β€” always remove it

Fun fact

Aloe is ~99% water, which is why it feels so cooling instantly 😌
