Here’s a crispy, melty Cheesy Potato Fries recipe — perfect as a snack, side, or indulgent appetizer 🥔🧀✨

🧀 Cheesy Potato Fries

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt (plus more to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
  • 2–3 green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 2–3 tbsp cooked bacon bits (optional)
  • Sour cream or ranch for dipping (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Fries

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and peel potatoes (optional). Cut into fries or wedges, about ¼–½ inch thick.
  3. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

2️⃣ Bake

  1. Spread fries in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

3️⃣ Add Cheese

  1. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over fries while hot.
  2. Return to oven 2–3 minutes until cheese melts.

4️⃣ Garnish & Serve

  • Top with chopped green onions and optional bacon bits.
  • Serve immediately with sour cream, ranch, or ketchup.

🔥 Tips

  • For extra crispy fries, soak cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before baking.
  • Toss fries with paprika or chili powder for a smoky kick.
  • Can make air fryer version: 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, tossing halfway, then add cheese.
  • Use gruyere or mozzarella for a gooey alternative.

If you want, I can also give you a loaded Cheesy Potato Fries version with chili, jalapeños, and more toppings for a true comfort-food treat.

Do you want the oven-baked version or a crispy fried version?
