Baked potato

Here’s a simple way to make a perfect baked potato 🥔✨ —s cripy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.


Ingredients (1–2 potatoes)

  • 1–2 large russet potatoes (best for baking)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Prep the potato
    • Wash the potato well and pat dry.
    • Prick the potato a few times with a fork (this lets steam escape).
    • Rub the skin with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Bake
    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
    • Place potato directly on the oven rack (or on a baking sheet) and bake 45–60 minutes, until skin is crispy and a fork slides easily into the center.
  3. Serve
    • Cut a slit down the center, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.

Tip: For a faster version, you can microwave the potato for 5–8 minutes first, then bake for 10–15 minutes to crisp the skin.
