Simple method for soft, medium, or hard-boiled eggs.

  • Eggs
  • Water
  • Ice (for ice bath)

1️⃣ Place eggs in a pot in a single layer.
2️⃣ Cover with cold water (about 1 inch above eggs).
3️⃣ Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
4️⃣ Once boiling, turn off heat, cover, and let sit:

Doneness Sit Time
Soft-boiled (runny yolk) 4–5 minutes
Medium (jammy center) 6–8 minutes
Hard-boiled 10–12 minutes

5️⃣ Transfer immediately to ice bath for 5–10 minutes.
6️⃣ Peel and enjoy.

  • Slightly older eggs peel easier than very fresh ones.
