Cabbage fritters

Here’s an easy and tasty recipe for cabbage fritters 🥬✨ — crispy on the outside and soft inside.


Ingredients (makes ~8–10 fritters)

  • 2 cups cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 3–4 tbsp all-purpose flour (or breadcrumbs)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or cumin (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prep the cabbage
    • Place shredded cabbage in a bowl, sprinkle with a little salt, and squeeze gently to remove excess moisture.
  2. Mix the batter
    • Add egg, flour, onion, spices, salt, and pepper to the cabbage.
    • Mix until everything holds together (add a little more flour if needed).
  3. Heat oil
    • Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the fritters
    • Spoon small portions into the pan and flatten slightly.
    • Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Drain & serve
    • Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
    • Serve hot with yogurt, sour cream, or ketchup.

Variations

  • Add grated carrot for sweetness
  • Add cheese for extra flavor
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes for a lighter version
