Stuffed mushrooms

Here’s an easy and tasty stuffed mushrooms recipe 🍄🧀 — great as a snack or appetizer.


Ingredients (makes about 12 mushrooms)

  • 12 large button or cremini mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated cheese (Parmesan or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prep mushrooms
    • Clean mushrooms with a damp towel.
    • Remove stems and chop them finely.
  2. Cook filling
    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Sauté onion and chopped mushroom stems for 3–4 minutes.
    • Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
    • Remove from heat and mix in breadcrumbs, cheese, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stuff mushrooms
    • Fill each mushroom cap with the mixture and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Bake 15–20 minutes until mushrooms are tender and tops are golden.
  5. Serve
    • Sprinkle with parsley and serve warm.

Variations

  • Add cream cheese for extra creaminess
  • Add spinach for a veggie boost
  • Add cooked chicken or beef (adult help if needed)
