Cheese twisted bread

Posted on March 1, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious, pull-apart Cheese Twisted Bread recipe—perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or party snack:

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen) or pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 400°F (200°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dough:
    • Roll out puff pastry or pizza dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Add filling:
    • Brush the dough lightly with melted butter mixed with garlic.
    • Sprinkle evenly with mozzarella, cheddar/Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Fold and cut:
    • Fold the dough in half lengthwise (like a book).
    • Press gently to seal.
    • Cut into 1-inch strips.
  5. Twist:
    • Take each strip and twist it several times.
    • Place on prepared baking sheet.
    • Brush with egg wash for extra golden color (optional).
  6. Bake:
    • Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with marinara sauce or ranch for dipping.

💡 Tips:

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Try mixing in cooked bacon bits for extra flavor.
  • For a softer breadstick-style twist, use pizza dough instead of puff pastry.

If you’d like, I can also give a from-scratch yeast dough version that’s extra fluffy and bakery-style.
