Sounds like you want a salted caramel banana bread recipe 😄 Here’s a simple, teen-friendly one that turns out moist and rich without being complicated.

Salted Caramel Banana Bread 🍌🍯

Ingredients

Banana Bread

  • 3 ripe bananas (the spottier, the better)
  • ½ cup melted butter (or oil)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional but great)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

Salted Caramel

  • ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought is totally fine)
  • ½–1 tsp flaky sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F. Grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Mix in baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gently fold in the flour until just combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan.
  7. Drizzle some caramel sauce over it and lightly swirl.
  8. Add the remaining batter, then drizzle more caramel on top.
  9. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top.
  10. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  11. Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Tips

  • Want it extra fancy? Drizzle warm caramel on top after baking.
  • Add chocolate chips or chopped nuts if you like.
  • If the top browns too fast, loosely cover with foil.
