Peach cobbler with canned peaches

Posted on March 12, 2026 by Admin

Peach Cobbler with Canned Peaches is a quick and easy dessert that’s sweet, juicy, and topped with a buttery biscuit or cake-like crust. 🍑🍰 Using canned peaches makes it fast without losing flavor.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches, drained (reserve ¼ cup syrup if desired)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Cobbler Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or similar.

2. Prepare the Filling

  1. In a bowl, combine peaches, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  2. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.

3. Make the Topping

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in melted butter, milk, and egg until smooth.

4. Assemble & Bake

  1. Spoon the batter evenly over the peach mixture. It doesn’t need to completely cover the peaches; it will spread while baking.
  2. Bake 35–45 minutes, until the topping is golden and set.

5. Cool & Serve

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, drizzle reserved peach syrup over the top before baking.
  • Add ¼ tsp nutmeg or ½ tsp almond extract to the topping for a subtle twist.
  • Use a larger pan if you prefer a thinner, crispier topping.

I can also share:

  • A quicker single-bowl method
  • Mini peach cobblers in ramekins
  • Peach cobbler with streusel topping for extra crunch.

Do you want me to give one of these variations?
