Here’s a crispy, easy cabbage fritters recipe—great as a snack, side dish, or light meal 🥬

Crispy Cabbage Fritters

Ingredients

  • 3 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for gluten-free)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place cabbage in a bowl, sprinkle with salt, and let sit 10 minutes.
    Squeeze out excess moisture well.
  2. Add onion, garlic, egg, flour, pepper, paprika, and herbs. Mix until combined.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Spoon batter into the pan and flatten slightly.
  5. Fry 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Serving Ideas

  • With sour cream or yogurt sauce
  • Drizzled with sweet chili sauce
  • With a squeeze of lemon juice

Variations

  • Add grated carrot or zucchini
  • Mix in cheese (feta or cheddar)
  • Add cumin or curry powder for extra flavor
  • Bake or air-fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway
