Wonton

Here are a few popular wonton options—tell me which one you want and I can go deeper 😊


Classic Pork Wontons (Soup or Fried)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Wonton wrappers

Filling

Mix everything (except wrappers) until slightly sticky.

Folding (simple)

  1. Place 1 tsp filling in center.
  2. Wet edges with water.
  3. Fold into a triangle, press to seal.
  4. Bring corners together and pinch.

Cooking

  • Boiled (soup): 3–4 minutes until they float
  • Fried: 350°F oil, 2–3 minutes until golden
  • Pan-fried: Brown, then steam with a splash of water

Wonton Soup (Quick)

  • Chicken broth
  • Garlic, ginger
  • A splash of soy sauce & sesame oil
  • Drop in wontons, simmer 3–4 minutes
  • Finish with green onions

Variations

  • Shrimp wontons: Swap pork for chopped shrimp
  • Cream cheese wontons: Add 4 oz cream cheese + sugar (sweet) or garlic (savory)
  • Air fryer: Brush with oil, 375°F for 6–8 minutes
