Here’s a classic Southern pecan pie—rich, gooey, and foolproof.

🥧 Classic Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1½–2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk corn syrup, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Stir in pecans.
  4. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust.
  5. Bake 50–60 minutes, until center is set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Cool completely before slicing.

🌰 Tips & Variations

  • Deeper flavor: Use dark corn syrup or substitute 1/2 cup brown sugar for white sugar.
  • Chocolate pecan pie: Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
  • Bourbon pecan pie: Add 1–2 tbsp bourbon.
  • No corn syrup: Substitute maple syrup or honey (texture will be slightly different).
