Baked apple fritters

Posted on February 11, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a baked apple fritters recipe — soft, cinnamon-spiced, packed with apples, and finished with a sweet glaze. All the flavor of the fried version, but oven-baked 🍎✨

🍏 Baked Apple Fritters

Ingredients

For the Fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups finely diced apples (about 1–2 apples)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

3️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.

4️⃣ Combine

Stir wet ingredients into dry just until combined.
Fold in diced apples.

5️⃣ Shape & Bake

Drop heaping ¼-cup portions onto the baking sheet, slightly flattening them.
Bake 15–18 minutes until golden and cooked through.

6️⃣ Optional Crisp Finish

For a more traditional fritter texture:

  • Brush tops lightly with melted butter
  • Broil 2–4 minutes until golden (watch closely!)

7️⃣ Glaze

Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.
Drizzle over warm fritters.

🔥 Tips

  • Best apples: Granny Smith (tart) or Honeycrisp (sweet & crisp).
  • Don’t overmix — keeps them tender.
  • Best eaten the same day, but reheat briefly in microwave to refresh.

If you’d like, I can also give you:

  • A yeast-raised version
  • An air fryer version
  • A healthier whole-wheat version
  • Or a cinnamon-apple fritter loaf 🍞
