🍄 Baked Mushroom Rice

Baked mushroom rice is a comforting one-dish meal made with rice, mushrooms, vegetables, and often a creamy or cheesy sauce. It’s simple to prepare, flavorful, and works as a side or main dish.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 1½ cups Rice, uncooked
  • 2 cups Mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup Cream or milk
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Butter or olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, and herbs (thyme, parsley) to taste

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
  2. Sauté vegetables
    • In a pan, heat butter/olive oil and sauté onion, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  3. Combine ingredients
    • In a baking dish, mix rice, sautéed vegetables, broth, and cream.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  4. Top with cheese (optional)
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top for a golden crust.
  5. Bake
    • Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes.
    • Remove foil and bake another 5–10 minutes to lightly brown the top.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or a few drops of truffle oil.
  • You can include other vegetables like bell peppers, peas, or carrots.
  • For a lighter version, skip the cream and use only broth.
