Classic Baked Potato
Ingredients
- 1 large potato (russet works best)
- 1–2 tsp oil (olive or any cooking oil)
- Salt
- Butter & toppings (optional)
Oven Method
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and dry the potato well.
- Poke holes all over with a fork (important).
- Rub with oil and sprinkle with salt.
- Place directly on oven rack or on a tray.
- Bake 45–60 minutes, until soft inside.
- Cut open, fluff with a fork, add butter or toppings.
Microwave + Oven (Faster)
- Wash, dry, poke holes.
- Microwave 5–7 minutes, turning once.
- Brush with oil, sprinkle salt.
- Bake at 425°F for 10–15 minutes to crisp the skin.
