Easy Beef Burger Patties

Makes 4 patties

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is best for flavor)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional (but good):
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • ½ tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Gently mix beef with seasonings (don’t overwork it).
  2. Divide into 4 equal portions.
  3. Shape into patties about Âľ-inch thick.
  4. Press a small dimple in the center of each patty (prevents puffing).
  5. Cook:
    • Grill: medium-high, 3–4 min per side
    • Skillet: medium-high with a little oil, 3–4 min per side
  6. Add cheese during the last minute if using.
  7. Rest 2 minutes, then serve.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t press the patties while cooking—keeps them juicy.
  • Cold meat = better burgers. Form patties straight from the fridge.
  • Salt right before cooking for max juiciness.
