boiled eggs

Posted on January 8, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple guide to boiled eggs, depending on how you like the yolk:

How to Boil Eggs

  1. Place eggs in a pot and cover with cold water (about 1 inch above eggs).
  2. Bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Once boiling, start timing and lower to a gentle boil.
  4. When time is up, transfer eggs to ice water for 5–10 minutes.
  5. Peel or store.

Timing Guide

  • Soft-boiled (runny yolk): 4–5 minutes
  • Medium-boiled (jammy): 6–7 minutes
  • Hard-boiled (fully set): 9–10 minutes

Tips

  • Older eggs peel more easily.
  • Crack the wide end first (air pocket helps peeling).
  • Store peeled eggs up to 3 days, unpeeled up to 7 days in the fridge.
