Chicken soup

Simple Chicken Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (about 500 g) chicken (breasts or thighs)
  • 8 cups water or chicken broth
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: noodles or rice, parsley

Steps

  1. Cook the chicken:
    Put chicken and water/broth in a pot. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer 15–20 minutes.
  2. Remove & shred:
    Take the chicken out, shred it with a fork, and set aside.
  3. Add veggies:
    Add carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the pot. Simmer 10–15 minutes until soft.
  4. Finish the soup:
    Return chicken to the pot. Add noodles or rice if using and cook until tender.
  5. Season & serve:
    Add salt, pepper, and optional parsley. Serve warm 🍲
