For the icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1️⃣ Make the dough

  • In a large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs. Add yeast mixture.
  • Gradually add flour and knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.

2️⃣ Prepare the filling

  • Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Roll dough into a rectangle (about 16×12 inches).
  • Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly.

3️⃣ Shape the rolls

  • Roll up dough tightly from the long edge.
  • Cut into 12 even rolls and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

5️⃣ Add icing

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

🔥 Tips & Variations

  • For extra gooey rolls, brush with melted butter before adding icing.
  • Add chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips to the filling.
  • Make ahead: refrigerate after shaping, bake in the morning.
  • For a quicker version, use refrigerated crescent roll dough and roll with cinnamon sugar.
