🥔🫛 Creamed Peas & Potatoes (Serves 4)

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs potatoes, peeled and diced

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook potatoes

  3. Add peas during the last 3–4 minutes of cooking.

2️⃣ Make the cream sauce

  1. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes (don’t brown).
  3. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
  4. Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.

3️⃣ Combine

  • Add potatoes and peas to the sauce.
  • Stir gently to coat.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and optional sugar.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Garnish with herbs if desired.
  • Serve hot as a side dish.

  • Old-fashioned: Add ¼ tsp nutmeg.
  • Extra creamy: Replace ½ cup milk with cream.
