Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb (450 g) chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
- Salt & pepper
- 1 egg
- ½ cup cornstarch
- Oil for pan-frying or shallow frying
Sesame Sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium if possible)
- 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
Noodles
- 8 oz (225 g) noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or ramen)
- Sesame seeds & sliced green onions (optional)
Steps
- Cook noodles:
Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside. - Prepare chicken:
Season chicken with salt & pepper. Dip in egg, then coat well with cornstarch. - Cook chicken:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain. - Make sauce:
In a pan, combine soy sauce, honey/brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic. Bring to a simmer.
Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thick. - Combine:
