Delicious choice 😋 Here’s a crispy sesame chicken served over noodles—sweet, savory, and crunchy, but still easy to make at home.

Crispy Sesame Chicken Over Noodles

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 lb (450 g) chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • Oil for pan-frying or shallow frying

Sesame Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium if possible)
  • 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water

Noodles

  • 8 oz (225 g) noodles (lo mein, spaghetti, or ramen)
  • Sesame seeds & sliced green onions (optional)

Steps

  1. Cook noodles:
Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare chicken:
Season chicken with salt & pepper. Dip in egg, then coat well with cornstarch.
  3. Cook chicken:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain.
  4. Make sauce:
In a pan, combine soy sauce, honey/brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic. Bring to a simmer.
Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thick.
  5. Combine:
Add crispy chicken to the sauce and toss quickly to coat.
  6. Serve:
Spoon sesame chicken over noodles. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.

Tips

  • Keep chicken crispy: toss it in sauce right before serving
  • Add veggies: broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas work great
  • Not spicy by default (kid-friendly), but you can add a tiny bit of chili sauce if you like
