dill pickle bread

Posted on January 10, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a savory dill pickle bread—soft inside, golden outside, with that tangy pickle flavor people love 🥒🍞

🥒 Dill Pickle Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried dill (or 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1½ cups shredded dill pickles (pat dry)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional but great)
  • 1 cup pickle juice
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, dill, and garlic powder.
  3. Add pickles & cheese
Stir in shredded pickles and cheese until coated with flour.
  4. Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, whisk pickle juice, melted butter, and egg.
  5. Combine
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir just until combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Bake
Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake 45–55 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool
Let cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan.

🌟 Tips & Variations

  • Extra pickle flavor: Brush top with melted butter mixed with a little pickle juice after baking.
  • Spicy pickle bread: Add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
  • Garlic cheddar: Increase garlic powder and cheddar for a bold flavor.
  • Skillet version: Bake in a cast-iron skillet for crisp edges.

This bread is amazing with soups, chili, burgers, or grilled cheese.
If you want, I can share a yeast-based dill pickle sandwich bread or a cheddar-dill pickle pull-apart loaf.
