🍗 Fried chicken cutlets

Fried chicken cutlets are thin slices of chicken breast that are breaded and fried until golden and crispy. They’re quick to cook and popular as a main dish, in sandwiches, or with pasta.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2–4 Chicken breast, pounded thin
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1–2 cups Bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Oil for frying (Vegetable oil or canola)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken
    • Slice or pound chicken breasts to about 1–1.5 cm (½ inch) thickness.
  2. Set up a breading station
    • Bowl 1: Flour mixed with salt and pepper
    • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
    • Bowl 3: Bread crumbs (with paprika if using)
  3. Bread the chicken
    • Coat chicken in flour → dip in eggs → coat with bread crumbs.
  4. Fry
    • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Fry chicken cutlets 3–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 74 °C / 165 °F).
  5. Drain and serve
    • Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.

🌟 Tips

  • For extra crispy cutlets, double-dip in egg and breadcrumbs.
  • Serve with Lemon wedges or a dipping sauce like ranch or honey mustard.
  • Can also bake in the oven at 200 °C (400 °F) for 20–25 minutes for a lighter version.

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • With Mashed potatoes and gravy
  • In a sandwich with lettuce and tomato
  • Sliced over a salad for a protein boost

✅ Fun fact: Thin chicken cutlets are popular worldwide under different names, such as “Chicken Milanese” in Italy and “Chicken Schnitzel” in Germany and Austria.
