Fried Chicken Fritters

Posted on March 15, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious Southern-style fried chicken fritters recipe—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, finely chopped (rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional for a little heat)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, beat the egg and milk together.
  3. Combine chicken and seasonings: In a large bowl, mix the chopped chicken, onion, and parsley.
  4. Form batter: Gradually stir in the flour mixture and then the egg-milk mixture until you get a sticky batter that holds together.
  5. Heat oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about ½ inch of oil over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry fritters: Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil (about 2–3 inches apart). Fry 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot: These fritters are great with honey, hot sauce, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.

💡 Tips for Best Fritters:

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan, or the fritters will steam instead of crisp.
  • Use finely shredded or chopped chicken for uniform cooking.
  • You can add a little shredded cheddar or corn for extra flavor.

If you want, I can also give a quick baked version that’s lower-fat but still golden and crispy.

Do you want me to share that version too?
