Ham and cheese sliders

Posted on February 6, 2026 by Admin

You got it—ham and cheese sliders, melty and irresistible 😄
Here’s a classic, super-reliable recipe (the kind everyone asks for), plus a couple of easy upgrades.

Classic Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ingredients (Makes 12 sliders)

  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls are perfect)
  • 1 lb sliced deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional but classic)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or honey

Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Slice rolls in half horizontally (keep them connected).

2. Assemble

  • Place bottom halves of rolls in the dish.
  • Layer ham, then cheese evenly.
  • Place tops of rolls back on.

3. Butter Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, poppy seeds, and optional Worcestershire or honey.
  • Pour or brush evenly over the rolls.

4. Bake

  • Cover with foil and bake 15–20 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Uncover and bake 5–10 minutes until tops are golden.

5. Serve

  • Pull apart and serve warm—gooey cheese guaranteed.

Easy Upgrades

  • Add caramelized onions or pickles for extra flavor
  • Swap Swiss for provolone, Gruyère, or pepper jack
  • Brush tops with rosemary garlic butter for a fancy touch

Make-Ahead Tip

Assemble the sliders, cover, and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Bake when ready.

If you want, I can give you a Hawaiian-style sweet & savory version, a spicy version, or a party-size sheet-pan trick so they stay warm longer.
