Million dollar cream cheese cake

Posted on March 13, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Million Dollar Cream Cheese Cake recipe—rich, creamy, and decadent. This cake is known for its buttery crust, creamy cheesecake-like layer, and a sweet, custard-like topping.

Ingredients

Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping (Million Dollar Layer):

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup melted butter

Optional: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or chocolate chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the crust:
    • Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter.
    • Press firmly into the bottom of the pan.
    • Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Make the filling:
    • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
    • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
    • Spread evenly over the crust.
  4. Bake the filling:
    • Bake for 20 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Prepare the topping:
    • Whisk together sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla, and melted butter until smooth.
  6. Add topping and bake:
    • Pour topping over the baked cream cheese layer.
    • Bake 25–30 minutes, until lightly golden and set.
  7. Cool and chill:
    • Let cake cool to room temperature, then refrigerate at least 4 hours (overnight is best).
  8. Serve:
    • Cut into squares, optionally garnish with nuts, coconut, or chocolate.

💡 Tips:

  • Use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream for the creamiest texture.
  • Do not overbake the topping—it should be custardy, not dry.
  • This cake improves in flavor if chilled overnight.

If you want, I can also give a quick 5-ingredient shortcut version that still tastes luxurious but is way faster to make.

Do you want me to do that?
