Pancake

Here’s a simple way to make fluffy pancakes from scratch! 🥞


Ingredients (makes about 4–6 pancakes)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Butter or oil for the pan

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients
    • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Mix wet ingredients
    • In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Combine
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
    • Stir gently until just combined — small lumps are okay. Don’t overmix!
  4. Cook the pancakes
    • Heat a nonstick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it.
    • Pour ¼ cup of batter for each pancake.
    • Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set (~2–3 minutes).
    • Flip and cook the other side until golden (~1–2 minutes).
  5. Serve
    • Stack them up, add syrup, fruit, chocolate chips, or anything you like!
