peach cobbler

Posted on January 10, 2026 by Admin

Nothing says comfort like a classic peach cobbler—sweet, juicy peaches with a golden, buttery topping. This one is simple and absolutely perfect.

🍑 Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Ingredients (serves 6–8):

Peach filling

  • 6–8 fresh peaches, peeled & sliced
(or 4 cups frozen or canned—drained)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Cobbler topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss peaches with sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. Pour melted butter into a 9×13 baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
  5. Pour batter directly over butter—do not stir.
  6. Spoon peaches evenly over the batter—again, do not stir.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let cool 10–15 minutes before serving.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • Sprinkle coarse sugar or cinnamon sugar on top before baking for a crackly crust.
  • Add a splash of bourbon or rum to the peaches for next-level flavor.
  • Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.

If you want, I can give you:
• A Southern biscuit-style cobbler
• A crispy crumble-top version
• Or a 5-ingredient lazy peach cobbler

Just tell me which one 🍑
