Peach cobbler with canned peaches

Posted on January 28, 2026 by Admin

Yesss 🍑 Peach cobbler with canned peaches is pure comfort and comes together fast. Here’s a classic, foolproof version—golden on top, syrupy underneath.

Peach Cobbler (Using Canned Peaches)

(serves 6–8)

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in syrup (do NOT drain)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
    • Place butter in a 9×13 baking dish and melt it in the oven.
  2. Make batter
    • In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Assemble
    • Pour batter over the melted butter (do not stir).
    • Spoon peaches and syrup evenly over the batter.
    • Sprinkle cinnamon (and nutmeg if using) over the top.
  4. Bake
    • Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Cool & serve
    • Let cool 10–15 minutes before serving.

Tips for the Best Cobbler

  • Don’t stir — the batter rises around the peaches while baking
  • Use peaches in syrup for the richest flavor
  • Add a little brown sugar on top for extra caramel notes
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream 😍

Easy Variations

  • 🍑 Add a splash of lemon juice for brightness
  • 🧈 Sprinkle sugar on top before baking for crunch
  • 🍒 Mix in canned cherries or blueberries

If you want, I can also share a southern-style biscuit cobbler or a dump-and-bake version with cake mix.
