Peach cobbler with canned peaches

Posted on March 13, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Peach Cobbler using canned peaches—perfect when fresh peaches aren’t available.

Canned Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches, drained (reserve ¼ cup juice)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (plus 2 tbsp for topping)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the peaches:
    • In a bowl, combine drained peaches, ¾ cup sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon, and vanilla.
    • Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Make the topping:
    • In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Stir in melted butter and milk until smooth.
  4. Assemble the cobbler:
    • Spoon the batter evenly over the peaches. It’s okay if some peaches peek through.
    • Sprinkle 2 tbsp sugar (and optional cinnamon) on top.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool & serve:
    • Let cool 10–15 minutes.
    • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

💡 Tips:

  • Use light syrup peaches for a sweeter cobbler, or in juice for a slightly tangier flavor.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of ground ginger or nutmeg to the peaches.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 2–3 days and can be reheated.

I can also give a quick one-bowl skillet version that’s faster, with a slightly crispier top—still perfect with canned peaches.

Do you want me to share that version?
