Pecan pie

Posted on December 31, 2025 by Admin

Ah, pecan pie—the classic Southern dessert! It’s rich, sweet, and nutty with a gooey filling. Here’s a straightforward way to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  3. Place the pecans in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.
  4. Pour the filling over the pecans.
  5. Bake for 50–60 minutes, until the filling is set (a little jiggly in the center is okay—it will firm up as it cools).
  6. Let it cool completely before slicing so the gooey filling sets.

Optional: Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. 🍨

If you want, I can also give a shortcut version using a store-bought crust that comes out perfect every time. Do you want me to do that?
