Pecan Pie Cobbler (easy + crowd-pleasing)

Ingredients

Base

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • Âź tsp salt
  • ž cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Pecan topping

  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
  • 1½ cups hot water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.
  2. Melt butter and pour it into a baking dish (don’t stir).
  3. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt.
  4. Stir in milk + vanilla, then gently pour batter over the butter
    👉 Don’t mix.
  5. Sprinkle brown sugar + pecans evenly over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour hot water over everything
    👉 Still don’t stir—trust the process.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.

  • The brown sugar + water turn into a thick pecan pie sauce
  • You get cake on top, gooey pecan filling underneath
