🥧 Shepherd’s pie
Shepherd’s pie is a traditional British dish made with ground meat (usually lamb) cooked with vegetables and gravy, then topped with mashed potatoes and baked until golden. When made with beef instead of lamb, it’s often called Cottage pie.

- 500 g Ground lamb (or beef for cottage pie)
- 1–2 cups Mashed potatoes

- 2 tbsp Butter
- Salt and pepper to taste

- Cook the filling
- Sauté onion and carrots in butter until soft.
- Add ground lamb, cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, broth, and peas. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Prepare the topping
- Make mashed potatoes (or use leftovers).
- Assemble
- Spread meat and vegetable mixture in a baking dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing with a spatula or fork.
- Bake
- Bake at 200 °C (400 °F) for 20–25 minutes, until the top is lightly golden.
