Slow Cooker Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage, chopped into wedges or bite-sized pieces
  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare cabbage: Remove tough outer leaves, then cut into wedges or large chunks.
  2. Layer in slow cooker: Place onions and carrots at the bottom, then cabbage on top.
  3. Add flavorings: Sprinkle with garlic, salt, pepper, and optional spices. Dot with butter.
  4. Add liquid: Pour broth over the top.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until cabbage is tender.
