🥩 Steak & Onion Foil Bake

An easy, juicy, no-mess meal you can make in the oven, on the grill, or over a campfire.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 1–1½ lb (450–700 g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or strip), cut into strips or cubes
  • 1 large onion, thickly sliced
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Optional add-ins:

  • Sliced bell peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Baby potatoes (parboiled first)
  • Worcestershire sauce

👩‍🍳 Oven Method

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2️⃣ Season steak with oil/butter, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
3️⃣ Layer steak and onions in the center of a large sheet of heavy-duty foil.
4️⃣ Seal tightly into a packet (fold edges well to trap steam).
5️⃣ Bake 20–30 minutes, depending on steak thickness and preferred doneness.

For more browning: Open the foil for the last 5 minutes.

🔥 Grill Method

  • Place sealed packet on medium heat.
  • Cook 15–25 minutes, flipping halfway.

🧈 Flavor Boost Ideas

  • Add a splash of Worcestershire before sealing
  • Top with a pat of garlic herb butter after cooking
  • Sprinkle with shredded provolone and broil briefly
  • Finish with fresh parsley

🥔 Make It a Full Meal

Add thin potato slices or sweet potatoes to the packet (just slice thin so they cook through).

If you’d like, I can also give you:
