Sweet chili pineapple sauce

Here’s a Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce that’s sticky, tangy, and perfect for chicken, shrimp, salmon, or as a dipping sauce 🌶️🍍


Sweet Chili Pineapple Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pineapple juice or finely crushed pineapple (with juice)
  • ½ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2–3 tbsp honey or brown sugar (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lime juice
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½–1 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Combine base ingredients
    In a saucepan over medium heat, add pineapple juice, sweet chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and chili flakes.
  2. Simmer
    Bring to a gentle simmer and cook 3–5 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Thicken
    Stir in cornstarch slurry. Simmer another 1–2 minutes until glossy and thick.
  4. Cool & serve
    Remove from heat. Sauce thickens more as it cools.

Uses

  • Glaze for grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp
  • Toss with stir-fry or noodles
  • Dip for egg rolls, chicken strips, or spring rolls
  • Drizzle on rice bowls or tacos

Variations

  • Add ginger for extra zing
  • Stir in sriracha for more heat
  • Blend smooth or leave chunky
  • Make it no-sugar-added with monk fruit sweetener
